I guess maybe I’d decided that Falmer presence in Skyrim predating Nord presence made Gelebor the true High King? Thus solving all the problems forever?
How do I Onmund, or making the most of your friendly ComSorc
(Long post short, followers are only lame by default. Any follower you like can be a useful follower as long as you give them what they need. Awwwwww yeah.)
Making all the frowny-faces at The Elder Scrolls Wiki article on Onmund., particularly the Follower information section:
He makes use of Frost and Shock spells such as Frostbite and Lightning Bolt as well as Archery occasionally. He will resort to unarmed combat when he runs out of magicka. When low on health he may retreat from battle and make himself invisible until he has healed himself. He does not seem to like equipping better versions of mage robes, doing so only occasionally, and will often swap back to his defaults on fast travel. However, he will equip light armor and jewelry.
…what. Are the TESWiki articles all like this? Jeez, no wonder everyone thinks he sucks as a Follower. Or that Followers suck in general.

(For those not keeping score, Onmund’s voice actor misread “Psijic” as “Physic” in one line and unfortunately it is the only line he will say through that entire quest. X33)

The other reason I stopped playing Skyrim (besides the bugs and the time-sink) was that Artie got werewolf’d, which disables all rest bonuses including Homecooked Meals from your spouse.
For some reason that totally bummed me out, like it signified a decline in their relationship or something. ;-; Onmund I miss your delicious pies.
That’s strange. My Khajiit character is a werewolf (catwolf?) who married Scouts Many Marshes, the Argonian from the Windhelm docks. While I don’t get the sleep bonuses, obviously, I do still get the tasty homecooked stews once a day like normal. Maybe it’s to do with if you contract lycanthropy AFTER you get married?
Oh huh! It might also just be a bug; even after I cured the lycanthropy and got my rest bonuses back, the Homecooked Meals didn’t return. ;_; Guess the honeymoon’s over… Onmund also has an encumberment bug where he can’t carry anything at all, I can’t even put the shoes I stole from him back on.
Need headcanon bug justification; … um… maybe he’s pregnant? XDD He’s already barefoot.
